Toyota Way is a philosophy. The 4-P model – Philosophy, Process, People & Partners, and Problem Solving describes the four interdependent components required for long-term success. The author emphasizes the learner to establish the Toyota Way first and then to establish the Toyota Production System. The book covers a massive amount of material, yet I thought, it was well organized. 14 management principles are covered in individual chapters. The last two chapters are dedicated to how to use and implement Toyota Way philosophy and management principles in reader’s organization. The author is convinced that the best organizations are Learning Enterprises. I think the Philosophy and system can be adapted to both production or service companies and small or big business, because the underline current is there is no lean system without the right company culture.
